THE FAMILY COLLECTIVE REIMAGINES APPROACH
TO ADDRESSING FAMILY STABILITY
UWGN is taking a fresh approach to help families facing housing
and 昀椀 nancial challenges by deepening coordination across
trusted partner agencies and strengthening their work as
connected communities of support. Through targeted funding
to four agencies—Safe Haven Family Shelter, Bethlehem Center,
St. Luke’s Community House and Catholic Charities—families can
experience more seamless support that wraps around children’s
and caregivers’ needs, making it easier to 昀椀 nd stability and thrive.
Building on the strong collaboration already in place, we
partnered with these agencies to clarify a shared path forward
for addressing family instability. Through joint planning, learning
and partner conversations, we aligned around a coaching model
called Mobility Mentoring, which will be implemented in 2026.
This model re昀氀 ects what research—and our partners’ real-world
experience—tell us people need to move ahead:
> Sound advice from a trusted mentor.
> Support to set and achieve goals for all the important parts of
life—from health and career to family, 昀椀 nances and education.
> Recognition for success.
SNAP EMERGENCY FUND FEEDS
NEIGHBORS FACING CRISIS
When SNAP bene昀椀 ts expired during
the federal government shutdown in
November 2025, UWGN stepped up
to support those neighbors who were
impacted by a loss of bene昀椀 ts. With a
$250,000 emergency fund established
to support partners across Middle
Tennessee, we expended the entire
fund, providing vital backing to 27
separate partners in our service area.
