IMAGINATION LIBRARY OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a collaboration between UWGN and
the Governor’s Early Literacy Foundation where enrolled children receive
an age-appropriate book addressed directly to them in their mailbox each
month. By building home libraries, children develop a sense of pride and
empowerment in having something of their very own.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is about so much more than free
books for every child. It’s a promise to the community. A promise that
we are a trusted partner in your child’s love of reading and learning.
It’s a promise that homes in Middle Tennessee have the resources to
become spaces of growth and exploration, and that families become
an integral part of the learning process.

RAISE YOUR HAND TUTORING PROGRAM
United Way’s Raise Your Hand (RYH) is a high-dosage, low-ratio tutoring
program designed to increase school attendance, engagement and
pro昀椀 ciency. RYH provides targeted interventions to address each
learner’s unique needs, overcome barriers to participation, connect
whole families to wraparound support services, boost con昀椀 dence, and
ultimately improve foundational math and reading skills. Our holistic
approach not only bene昀椀 ts students, but strengthens family support
systems, fostering collaborative environments where parents are
engaged in their child’s learning journey and equipped to advocate for
their educational success.

Across our footprint, Raise Your Hand hosts literacy events to better prepare families to support
their children’s learning process. In Dickson County, a Literacy Council of local business leaders
welcomed families to special events, facilitating activities and providing tips to navigating school.
