2025 Annual Report - Flipbook - Page 2
A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO AND BOARD CHAIR
This year marked a season of renewed energy and shared
purpose at United Way of Greater Nashville. Building upon
the legacy of Brian Hassett, our new leadership team hit the
ground running—honoring the strong foundation he helped
build while charting bold new paths forward.
Together, we strengthened partnerships and expanded
our reach across all nine counties we serve. From new
collaborations to local recovery efforts, 2025 was a year
of action, compassion and community impact.
One of our most exciting milestones was the new partnership
between United Way of Greater Nashville and United Way of
Greater Chattanooga to provide comprehensive 211 services
across the Middle Tennessee region. This collaboration
enhances statewide coordination and ensures our neighbors
receive localized, user-friendly support when they need it most.
When devastating 昀氀 ooding hit Clarksville in April, we stood
side by side with our neighbors—offering immediate relief
and committing to long-term recovery. Our spirit of resilience
continues to guide our responses.
We continue to expand Hands On, powered by United Way
of Greater Nashville, in our regional footprint, especially
strengthening our presence in Clarksville. Through this
growth, and through new localized town halls in Montgomery
and Williamson counties, we are listening more deeply and
responding more directly to community needs.
Our Days of Action once again brought volunteers together
to make tangible change. Nearly 400 volunteers from Power
Home Remodeling Group transformed classrooms and
playgrounds across three local schools, showing students
that their community is rooting for them. And Nashville
Volunteer Week saw a 20% increase in volunteer signups—a re昀氀 ection of growing civic pride and engagement.
We were honored to be selected for the HCA Healthcare
Healthy Starts Initiative, furthering our work to improve
maternal health outcomes across our region. And through
our Season of Sharing campaign, we reimagined holiday
volunteerism—yielding a major increase in participation
during the winter months, a critical time for many families.
In 2025, our two-year funding cycle grew to include more
than 180 funded partners—a testament to our region’s
generosity and trust in United Way’s mission. Yet we know
there is still more to do, as the needs in our community
continue to outpace available resources.
We are especially proud of our partnership with Fifth
Third Bank and their historic $20 million investment in
North Nashville. Alongside Affordable Housing Resources,
Pathway Lending and Enterprise Community Partners, this
collaborative effort will expand economic mobility and
昀椀 nancial inclusion for residents and businesses across
the community.
And when federal funding disruptions and SNAP bene昀椀 t
concerns arose late in the year, our team and partners
responded swiftly—mobilizing city, state, faith-based and
nonpro昀椀 t leaders to ensure no one was left behind. We quickly
committed to helping and disbursed $250,000 to our funded
partners. This initial investment was designed to build capacity
and strengthen our existing network of United Way-funded
partners. While the round of funding focused on our current
partners, we remain committed to identifying future ways to
support additional community organizations.
None of this would be possible without the unwavering
commitment of our staff, board, corporate partners, funded
agencies, donors, philanthropy partners and volunteers.
Your belief in our shared mission fuels every success story we
celebrate on these pages.
As we look ahead, we remain united by a simple but powerful
vision: a community where every person—every family—has the
opportunity to thrive.
With gratitude and hope,
