HANDS ON TRANSFORMS CORPORATE SERVICE INTO LASTING CHANGE
When companies actively volunteer together, they help
build stronger communities. However, many businesses
struggle to identify community needs, and nonpro昀椀 ts
and schools—which rely heavily on volunteers—often
lack the staf昀椀 ng and resources to plan large volunteer
events on their own. This disconnect creates missed
opportunities for impact.
Hands On bridges the gap between our corporate and
nonpro昀椀 t communities, providing hassle-free custom
volunteer projects tailored to a company’s schedule,
team size and goals. With Hands On’s expert volunteer
project management team, companies and nonpro昀椀 ts
receive full project planning services, supplies and day-of
“
event leadership. Every project is designed around local
community needs and supports our nonpro昀椀 t partners in
ways that wouldn’t otherwise be possible.
In August, Power Home Remodeling Group (Power HRG)
wanted their employees to give back to the community
as part of their company-wide meeting in Nashville. With
coordination from Hands On, 350 Power HRG volunteers
revitalized three local schools, transforming classrooms,
playgrounds and common spaces right before the start
of the new school year. Thanks to Hands On’s expert
planning and support, Power HRG was able to execute
event-day volunteer leadership that would have been
beyond the capacity of the schools alone.
“We’re grateful for the effort that Hands On gave to this project.
With your help we coordinated our largest, smoothest, and
most impactful major event service project to date.”

CELEBRATING THE VOLUNTEERS WHO POWER OUR COMMUNITIES FORWARD
From showing up in the early hours of the day to
unload a food delivery truck to serving in our schools,
to helping with nonpro昀椀 t administrative tasks, volunteers
help power our community forward. Often, volunteers are
behind the scenes and deserve to be recognized for their
tireless efforts serving our community.
Each year, Hands On celebrates and highlights impactful
service in the community. The Mary Catherine Strobel
Volunteer Awards honor those who embody the giving
spirit that Mrs. Strobel was known for. On May 8, 2025, 18
昀椀 nalists of all ages were recognized for the time and effort
they undertake to improve the community, with award
recipients carefully selected by other local volunteers.
At the Mary Catherine Strobel Awards, Hands On
presented Annie Wortham with the Adult Volunteer
Award. Annie is a longtime volunteer with the Sexual
Assault Center, logging 216 hours last year alone. The SAC
22
team nominated Annie for her dedication and shared
a powerful example of when she extended her shift
to comfort a survivor, helping her navigate the dif昀椀 cult
decision to undergo a forensic exam after an assault.
Annie’s support not only helped this survivor take an
important step toward healing but also ensured her
dignity was upheld throughout the process.
Nashville Volunteer Week encouraged our neighbors
to sign up for one volunteer project through the Hands
On calendar before the year ends. The week kicked
off with a celebration at Centennial Park where 40
different nonpro昀椀 ts shared their volunteer needs with
local residents.
During the week, volunteers signed up for 781 service
activities with 136 organizations through the Hands On
website, nearly doubling the number of volunteer
sign-ups in an average week.
