CAN: UNITED FOR HOUSING SECURITY AND ECONOMIC MOBILITY
The Community Assistance Network (CAN), formerly the Financial Assistance Network (FAN), is a
collaborative coalition of nonpro昀椀 ts, faith-based organizations and government agencies working
to prevent housing instability in Davidson County. CAN focuses on individuals and families who are
housed but at risk of losing their homes due to 昀椀 nancial hardship or systemic barriers.
Through shared resources, strategic alignment and coordinated action, CAN ampli昀椀 es partner
impact, reduces duplication of services and drives innovative housing solutions. The Network
also provides access to funding opportunities and fosters advocacy, education and equity-driven
strategies to strengthen community well-being.
By addressing housing—a critical factor in economic stability—CAN complements programs like the Financial
Empowerment Center, VITA tax assistance, and SNAP Employment & Training. Together, these initiatives
create a holistic support system that empowers families to achieve long-term stability and self-suf昀椀 ciency.
With UWGN serving as 昀椀 scal intermediary, CAN ensures 昀椀 nancial integrity and compliance while
enabling partners to access resources that advance equity and dismantle barriers to opportunity.
