WHY ENGAGING THE NEXT GENERATION MATTERS
Empowering young people to lead through service is essential to building a stronger, more connected community. When
students volunteer, they develop leadership skills, empathy and a lifelong commitment to giving back. By engaging with the
next generation now, we are cultivating future changemakers who will carry forward a culture of generosity and opportunity
for all. Their voices, energy and creativity ensure that our mission remains vibrant and relevant for years to come.
We have started shining a light on current young volunteers and their impact in the hopes that we inspire others to step
forward and join this movement of service and leadership.
TEENS OF TOCQUEVILLE
STUDENT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
Teens of Tocqueville unites young leaders committed to
breaking the cycle of poverty, ensuring every child has
an equal chance to succeed and strengthening healthy,
resilient communities. Members mobilize their time,
talent and resources to support United Way partners and
advance solutions to the region’s most pressing challenges.
The Student Ambassador program engages students as
leaders who inspire volunteerism and civic engagement
in their schools and communities. Ambassadors promote
United Way initiatives, recruit peers, and participate in
events that advance awareness of service and giving back.
Through hands-on community engagement and event
leadership, Teens of Tocqueville gain meaningful experience
in philanthropy, collaboration and civic responsibility. The
program equips participants to lead with purpose—today
and into the future.
By connecting teens to mission-driven action, Teens of
Tocqueville is helping cultivate the philanthropic leaders
our community will rely on for generations to come.
Throughout the year, Student Ambassadors support key
efforts such as Nashville Volunteer Week, Season of Sharing
and VITA, helping expand volunteer reach and promote
critical community resources, including free tax-preparation
services that save families millions of dollars annually.
The program offers 昀氀 exible, year-round opportunities—
from signature events like Stuff the Bus and Ignite!
Early Childhood Education to ongoing community and
volunteer engagements. Students track participation and,
upon completion, receive certi昀椀 cation and recognition for
their impact.
By empowering students to lead through service, the
Student Ambassador program strengthens today’s
volunteer pipeline while cultivating the next generation
of community-minded leaders.
