ENSURE EVERY CHILD GRADUATES
The statistics surrounding high school graduation
rates in the Greater Nashville area are concerning,
with almost 20% of students not completing their
high school education in some counties. United
Way of Greater Nashville is committed to changing
this narrative.
We are actively working to equip every student with
the skills and support needed to reach graduation day
and transition to further education, vocational training
or a successful career. As part of our commitment
to evidence-based solutions, United Way invests
in research-based strategies proven to make a
difference in students’ lives, such as high-dosage,
low-ratio tutoring. Studies show that high-dosage
tutoring boosts students’ learning by three to 15
months regardless of their grade level. On average,
it elevates a student’s academic standing from the
50th to the 66th percentile. Compared to traditional
tutoring methods, high-dosage tutoring demonstrates
remarkable effectiveness, being 20 times more
impactful for math and 15 times more impactful
for reading. By prioritizing initiatives grounded in
research and data, we strive to ensure that every
investment yields the greatest possible impact on
the students and communities we serve.
We extend our deepest appreciation to all who stand
beside us in this crucial mission. Together we are
investing in our community’s future by investing in
our children’s education and success.
In addition to funding excellent nonpro昀椀 t organizations, United Way of Greater Nashville
is invested in collaboration to bring about system-level change.
