OUR WORK
BUILDING STRONG, HEALTHY COMMUNITIES
With Tennessee’s ranking 43rd out of 50 states for overall health and approximately 10% of the population
uninsured, our mission takes on added signi昀椀 cance. Our commitment to fostering wellness goes beyond
addressing immediate health needs; it encompasses creating a foundation for enduring community strength
and resilience. The impact of our collective efforts is far-reaching, touching the lives of individuals grappling
with health challenges and contributing to the transformation of neighborhoods into vibrant, supportive
environments. This serves as a testament to the strides we have made and the journey that lies ahead as
we continue to champion the cause of health and well-being for all.
ENSURING ACCESS TO QUALITY HEALTH CARE
BUILDING STRONG, SUPPORTIVE NEIGHBORHOODS
In our relentless pursuit of community well-being,
we’ve partnered with nonpro昀椀 t organizations to
extend a helping hand to those without health
insurance. Through these collaborations, we’ve
successfully facilitated access to affordable care for
individuals, with a special focus on supporting those
affected by HIV/AIDS through the essential services
provided by Ryan White Part B. By working alongside
community-based clinics and care providers, we’ve
been able to bridge gaps and link individuals to crucial
medical services, dental care and other supportive
resources that promote a culture of healthy living.
At United Way of Greater Nashville, we recognize
that the path to a healthy life goes beyond annual
checkups. We are actively involved in fostering a
sense of community by bringing neighbors together.
Through strategic partnerships with Family Resource
Centers and initiatives like senior citizen meal
delivery and teen outreach programs, we facilitate
meaningful connections. This collaborative approach
aims not only to enhance the overall health and
well-being of individuals but also to create a
supportive environment that positively impacts
children’s learning opportunities, improves the
quality of life for adults and makes a signi昀椀 cant
difference for seniors living alone.
SUPPORT FOR MENTAL HEALTH
AND CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT
Understanding the daily struggles faced by many
in our community dealing with chronic diseases,
mental health issues and substance addiction,
our partners have been instrumental in providing
education and resources. This empowerment allows
individuals to effectively manage their conditions,
leading to healthier and more productive lives.
Initiatives like the Williamson and Robertson
County Prevention Coalitions actively work
toward preventing substance abuse, building
strong partnerships within the community to
support a healthy, drug-free environment.
