211 HELPLINE
In 2015, our 211 services began partnering with Heart of Florida United Way. While this partnership was
bene昀椀 cial in many ways, it also introduced limitations, particularly from a funding perspective, which
affected what we could accomplish as a 211 service. Listening to feedback from our community, we made
the decision to bring our 211 services back to Tennessee. As of Jan. 1, 2025, we have partnered with United
Way of Greater Chattanooga to better serve our region.
This collaboration enables us to better serve
our communities, including rural areas in Middle
Tennessee, by leveraging a network of remote
call specialists across our 42-county region. While
we have partnered with United Way of Greater
Chattanooga for call center operations, UWGN
continues to manage the resource database
locally. The partnership allows us to provide more
comprehensive and accessible support to those in
need and opens new opportunities for us to take on
additional projects.
TOP IDENTIFIED NEEDS:
In 2024, 211 in Middle Tennessee played a vital
role in supporting individuals and families in
our community. With a strong commitment to
addressing urgent needs, the service 昀椀 elded an
impressive 34,000 calls and provided over 69,000
referrals to those in need.
These 昀椀 gures re昀氀 ect the ongoing challenges faced
by our neighbors and the essential role 211 serves in
connecting them to critical resources. By providing
timely assistance and referrals, 211 continues to be
a beacon of hope and a cornerstone of support in
Middle Tennessee.
Rent Payment Assistance: Many families
reached out to secure housing stability during
challenging times.
Electric Payment Assistance: Ensuring access to
utilities was a signi昀椀 cant concern for numerous
households.
Access to Local Food Pantries: Addressing food
insecurity remained a top priority.
