2024 ANNUAL REPORT
WE OPERATE IN FOUR
KEY WORK AREAS:
MEETING OUR NEIGHBORS’
BASIC NEEDS
GIVING KIDS
AN EQUAL CHANCE
BUILDING STRONG,
HEALTHY COMMUNITIES
BREAKING THE CYCLE
OF POVERTY
OPERATIONALIZING LASTING AND EFFECTIVE
COMMUNITY IMPACT
By bringing together a network of resources with
individuals, businesses, nonpro昀椀 ts and government
decision-makers, we bring the community together
in a way no single organization can, to develop,
fund and scale collective solutions that attack our
community’s most pressing problems at their roots.
DIRECT SERVICES
We Invest & Extend critical resources to
increase the number of community members
receiving vital support services necessary
to thrive.
STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS
We Assemble & Unite community partners
to amplify, accelerate and intensify their
responsiveness to enhance and maximize our
collective capacity.
CATALYST FOR SYSTEMS CHANGE
We Inform & Align people, policies and
practices to design functional and reliable
systems of support throughout the region.
Throughout it all, our mission remains simple:
United Way of Greater Nashville unites the
community and mobilizes resources so that
every child, individual and family thrives.
RECENT GROWTH AND OUR POSITIVE IMPACT
Middle Tennessee is growing at an unprecedented
pace. The lines between counties and cities are
becoming less de昀椀 ned as residents commute across
multiple county lines to get to and from work and
home. Many local companies have a presence in
multiple counties or cities across the region.
While each community has its own unique needs,
we can make a stronger impact through coordinated,
concentrated efforts of neighboring United Ways
and partner agencies.
Since 2019, we’ve merged with United Way of
Robertson County, United Way of Williamson
County, United Way of Dickson County, United
Way of Hickman County and United Way of the
Greater Clarksville Region, expanding our impact
area by eight counties and allowing us to better
serve our neighbors across Middle Tennessee.
In 2024, we merged with Hands On Nashville,
bringing together our volunteer networks and
support services. While creating one central
location for volunteer opportunities in Nashville,
the partnership also allows us to expand Hands
On services to other communities. In 2024,
for example, we began expanding Hands On
services to the Clarksville area.
